Our site is under construction so please come back later, in the meantime here is some basic information:
Roller derby is a roller skating contact sport played by two teams of fifteen members. Game play consists of a series of short scrimmages (jams) in which both teams designate a jammer (who uniquely wears a star on the helmet) and four blockers to skate counter-clockwise around a track. The jammer scores points by lapping members of the opposing team. The teams attempt to hinder the opposing jammer while assisting their own jammer—in effect, playing both offense and defense simultaneously.
TCDG welcomes people of any gender identity who are at least 18 years. If you are an experienced derby player interested in joining, please reach out to us via facebook or email for more information. For new skaters interested in learning derby, we typically hold recruitment events in the fall. Follow us on Facebook for the most up to date information.
TCDG is proud to be a skater-operated, do-it-yourself (DIY), nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that gives back to our community. We are always looking to partner with local and national organizations to reach our audiences and support our passion! We are also always looking for Volunteers and off skate support.
